Dance lessons (for first dance together)

By |November 21st, 2015|

My best friend didn’t want the first dance at her wedding to be boring, so so my gift to her and her husband to be was a couple of dance lessons in preparation for the big day! They worked with a choreographer and designed something personal to them. It was fantastic when they performed it on the day – they even got some comedy moments in there!

Foreign currency for honeymoon

By |November 21st, 2015|

Wanted to make sure son and daughter in law had a great honeymoon, so we sent them off with a wad of dollars (they were going to the US for their trip). They always end up spending money on everyday things, or saving it for a bigger house, so this was my way of making sure they spent it on something fun for themselves!

Bluetooth printer for wedding day

By |September 5th, 2015|

Bought this for my cousin for her wedding. You set the printer up at the reception and then send it pictures you take on your mobile phone or digital camera – you then bluetooth them to the printer and it prints them! We also bought a photo album and put it next to the printer – so you actually print, stick them in, and add a message. Really nice gift that was pretty unusual. Would also be good for special anniversaries and birthdays. You can pick these up at most electronic retailers.

Personalised song sung by professional singers

Did this for my wife for our wedding – you tell the company the story of how you got together and they write a song for you! I used a lot of humour, but you could put something very sentimental together as well.

You can either use one of their existing tracks which they personalise and that’s abou £50, or they will write a completely new one which costs about £140. Was a really nice personalised gift and ususual

Club together and pay for wedding bits

By |September 1st, 2015|

traditional Turkish idea – for my friends wedding my friends and I paid for a fantastic make-up artist. She really appreciated it because weddings are so expensive and she looked gorgeous! Lots of family members paid for something, rather than another toaster! So a really good way to help someone pay for the wedding

Celebrate their new life together by giving them a gift of a tree – I bought a willow sapling for my sister and her partner when they got married – was a really nice present – would also work for a christening
